6 days post op
Hi everyone, I am feeling OK so far. I have been taking walks and taking my vitamins and eating what I should. I have had no nausea or vomiting (thank goodness!). I just find it so weird that I am not hungry all of the time! It is so strange to me after wanting a large sub and a few slices of pizza for a lunch to fill up! My tough spots are trying to drink enough fluid - I get full pretty fast. And little burps - did anyone else experience that? I absolutely detest taking my Zoloft crushed up -
I would love a little feedback if anyone has some time. Thanks for the prayers last week - they worked

Hi Kristin,
I'm also about a week out post-op. I get a little fatiqued easily and find myself taking naps. I've also been walking daily, I did 2 miles today so I was pretty darn proud of myself.
I'm also finding it VERY weird that I'm not hungry and I get full very quickly from protein drinks, water, etc. I've been sipping through out the day on Crystal Light Iced Tea & that helps..I can tell when I "over due" it my new tummy doesn't feel right. I also have been burping, however it seems to be calming down a little.
I'm struggling with "head hunger" and missing the "Texture/Taste" of food. I'm sure this is normal..& I recognize it for what it is. It is tough though.
I'm also on Zoloft. I was switched over to a liquid dose...however it is ABSOLUTELY NASTY...it's awful & needs to be mixed with only certain fluids. I cannot tolerate it...& I think it caused me to have dumping syndrom...I was SOOOOO sick! I decided I'd rather suffer with a little weepy depression than feel that awful again...I swear my stomach felt like it was on fire...I thought for sure I had hurt my new tummy. I haven't taken it since...& I know I'm going through withdrawals..I need to call my primary Dr, to see if there's something else out there.
I'm glad you're doing so well!

YEAY Kristin!!! You are doing great. I found it really hard to get my fluids in also. It will get easier with time. The whole not being hungry thing was a big adjustment for me. I still do not get hungry and find I have to eat on a schedule so I get my protein in. I find the shakes a god-send.
Keep up the good work.

Hi Kristen!
The walking will help tremendously! So, good for you for keeping it up!
I am also on zoloft and when I tried to take the liquid form, it didn't go down well at all. So, I cut the pills in half and took them and it worked out just fine. Way better than the nasty liquid. EWWWW.
Good luck and email me with any questions at all!
Love and luck
Tammy
