I finally cut what's left of my hair

I finally got the nerve to cut it off. I am losing a ton of hair, at least 1/4 cup every morning in the shower. It's so upsetting, I started with a thick headfull, and now it is so thin. I finally cut it all off, I have bangs! Too funny. I bought Nioxin shampoo and conditioner, hopefully with the zinc, that too will help. Losing hair is upsetting, but I would do it all again in a NY minute. I'm down 66 lbs, I'll be 6 months post op on May 16th. I've gone from a tight 22 to a 14 in pants, and an XL in most tops. I've decided that size does not matter, despite popular belief. I'm feeling great.

Congratulations on your success Paula, I am losing alot of my hair too. Where do you get that Nioxin shampoo? I would like to try that. I am 4 months post op and hae lost 70lbs so far. I am getting my hair cut Thursday and a perm again too. I can't believe how much hair I have lost either. Its kind of scary too, but everyone tells me it grows back. Yes, I would do this all again in a heartbeat too. I am so glad I made the surgery decision, I am so happy now too!! Well you take care and I hope all is well with you. Hugs KimC

Hi, Hubby picked it up at a store in the mall called Trade Secrets. I used it for the first time today, what a difference, my hair feels softer. Good luck! 70 lbs. in 4 months?!? Whowee, that is great. Keep up the good work!

HI Paula, I sooo feel your pain of the hairloss. I started Nioxin about 10 days ago, and I've already noticed the difference. I started the hair, skin, and nails vitamin with Biotin today...you have to take it 3x a day. My hair was one of the features I actually liked about myself before WLS, so losing it is very painful. I do agree that I would do the surgery again in a NY minute...even with the hairloss. You are doing great! CONGRATS! xo JA PS for anyone looking for Nioxon...JC Penney's salon carries it and any of the hair cutting places in the malls as well. Any good salon will carry it too and I also believe it can be bought online. The most important produce is the Bionutrient treatment...that's what stimulates the hair regrowth (I've used it in the past and it works!)

One of my very good friends told me that my hair was "my crowning glory". What a complement! I too was one of those people who actually liked that feature. It will grow back! Hang in there, I feel for us.
