ROLL CALL - LET'S GET BACK ON TRACK!!!
Hi all,
It's been a while since Linda W. did her roll call. So, I'm gonna fill in for her. Remember, even though we have or had/not have our surgery, we must all support each other. So all you lurkers, com'on out!
My update isn't too exciting. I'm 9 month out and only down 67 or 68 lbs depending on the day. I am "STUCK" and can't seem to move. Also, as you all know from my desperate posts, I'm losing hair very rapidly. So, today, I went on main message board and found a ten day (drop weight quick) diet. I'm going to start it today! It's mostly protein, of course, but a few other things like SF jello, and lots of water.
On the positive side, I am down to a size 14 from a 22-24
Am also walking like a fool
I try to walk at least 5 miles a day and sometimes, I do 7 miles
I feel much better, not terrific yet, but much better. I have lots of energy. I'm very happy I had the surgery and would do it again in a heartbeat. Just wish I NEVER TRIED SUGAR AGAIN!!!! Unfortunately, I don't dump from sugar
So at the end of this month, I'm treating myself to a spa vacation in Naples, FL for 6 days. Only thing left to do is lose more weight, and find a pet sitter for "my girls" (two beagles).
Happy Monday, and I hope to see lots of posts here from all us "old folk" and don't forget Dr. Bell's support group tomorrow, which is open to EVERYONE.

Hi JA
From now It will be JA 's Roll Call !!! SMILE!!! Hope our Lurkers will come out and let us know how they are doing because we do think of them and is wondering how they are doing. That is why I want to give Summer Gathering Party
to see all people in Ct. to meet each other and have fun at party on July 16th! Mark your calendar!
JA I hope you will try new diet which have alot of protein will help to regrow your hair back and my hair is getting thinner too. I just keep to have enough protein in me. Everybody know I have been excercise everyday, I lost 130 pounds and now weight 173 pounds. I have to go back to shopping again to buy smaller size pant because that pants I bought for Deaf cruise are too big for me now! I have no idea what size I will be probably size 12 or 10 but the most important is I am feeling great than before in m y health and the size of pants is not matter to all of us! My hometown printed my article about this surgery and my trainer. they came out great!
You deserve this spa vacation this end of this month. My trainer and I will go to Stoweflake spa resort in Nov 11 weekend to celebrate my 1 annivernary. There will be fitness gym, spa treatment and eat healthly foods there. I never went there like this before!
I do get sick if I eat too fast or try one bite of sandwich ( my stomach won t accept bread things but toasted whole gain is okay with my stomach)
I will be at Post Op meeting in Middletown tomorrow night and hope to see new and old faces there
Don t forget to make your time to do excercise SMILE!
Hugs
Kathy K

Hi All,
I need to get back in track, I have lost 53 pounds and can wear a size 13 and XL shirt, I am currently 208. I have not been exercising since I came back from vacation. School is a little crazy since I have two weeks left and I have presentation and papers due back and fourth. Once school is over I will start walking since the weather is getting nice.
I need to get back to eating the right stuff, so today I am going to start the atkins diet, meat, cheese and eggs. I am going to try this for one week. I lost 5 pounds last week but I could feel that I am starting to eat stuff I should not eat.
I will not be able to attend the support group meeting on Tuesday because of school but I will be there next month. I miss going to the meetings it helps me stay in track.
Overall, I am feeling great and so happy I was able to get this tool to work with. I feel like I can do so much more even thou I still do not have all my energy back. Thank you all!!!
Hi everyone
Things have been crazy for me. I have not been well since last fall when I had my gall bladder out. From there I ran into more heart problems in January and they just keep on continuing. I just got out of Yale last Tuesday and was told that I will have to have heart bypass surgery in the near future.
My weight loss has slowed down from lack of exercise but I am only 2 lbs away from hitting the century club and 19lbs away from goal. This is the ray of light in my life. I have gone from a size 22 to a size 6. Now I just need to be able to start exercising again to start toning up some of this loose skin.
Hope all of you are doing well. I'm trying to keep up with the board the best I can. It's great to see the progress that so many of you are making.
Hugs,
Maggie

Maggie,
I am so sorry to hear of your health problems. I really hope after the surgery you are back to your old self. You are too young to be having all these problems. You will be in my thoughts and prayers. You are in good hands at Yale. All my docs reside there and have done right by me. I only wish I could find support to have this surgery with my type I diabetes. Can't find an endo who will help me and it is therefore delaying my road to becoming healthy.
Best of luck to you, I will be thinking about you -

JA --
Nice to see the "roll call" back on board.
You and I are definitely kindred spirits! If I hadn't tried sugar and found out I could handle it (and, alas, everything else!!) I'd have lost a lot faster and wouldn't have suffered my recent (temporary!) regain. I got down to just over 95 lbs. lost, then stopped. It took me awhile too, though. Some people just aren't fast losers, and that may well be your story. The hair thing is something everyone goes through, unfortunately. It all comes back!
Have a wonderful time at the spa -- I'm soooooo jealous of you & Kathy K!!
Maggie -- I'm sorry to hear you've had such struggles. I'll keep you in my prayers always. You're much too fabulous looking to suffer so!
Any other old timers out there????
XO

Try crystal lite as a change from water. Try different protein sources.
Swanson canned white meat chicken turns into a great chicken salad.
Myoplex low carb protein shakes available at GNC is a great protein source and only about 100 calories for 25 grams of protein. DWI--Deal with it!!! We have all been through so much that we need to do whatever it takes to reach our goals.
