Im out of the hospital

I had a blockage in my small intestine. It was in a weird spot that nothing could get around it and everything was backing up. I was a pretty sick lady all night. Not an experience I want to repeat. Dr. Bell said there were only 2 ways to clear a blockage. 1, we wait and see if it clears itself, which it sometimes does. or 2, we go in and clear it, which Dr. Bell did NOT want to do. So we waited and they put this tube down my nose to start sucking things out of my stomach. In all my life I never want to have that done to me again. It was the worst experience I have ever had. And painful. OMG, I was in misery. I had a series of bowl movements in the night and that cleared the obstruction WE HOPE. Im back on purees for a while as we watch and wait and see what happens. If I start to have symptoms again, I will have to go in for the surgery. Dr Bell thinks that it was nuts that got caught. I had eatten some nuts 2 days prior and gotten very sick. He thinks thats what got stuck and it just started building from there. I will never have them again. I will not take that kind of chance. Its not worth it. Its only peanut butter for me if I need the protein. I will be home at least for tomorrow, possibly for the rest of the week. I hope I recover quickly. Thanks for your prayers. While I was there I saw some of our friends from this website who had their surgeries yesterday. They are all doing well. By the way as of today I am half way to goal. I have lost 65 pounds. 65 more to go. Dr. Bell is very happy with me. Im 3 months a head of schedule. I do wish this had not happened to me though. It was very frightening. The only time I was this scared was when I had my gastric surgery. This was worse than anything they did to me. Thanks for your prayers. I love you all Call me at home 860-283-8217

Lauren, Been following your story on the boards for quite a while. I was looking for an update all day today at work hoping you were home and fine. Glad to finally find out you are okay. I hope the blockage has cleared and you don't end up having to have the surgery. Take care of yourself and rest - I am sorry you had such a terrible experience but thank god it turned out okay.
