Need to Vent
Hi Everyone,
Well today was my final day at my workplace. It was VERY emotional, Very sad with lots of tears. My company was one of the very best places I've worked and I will TRULY miss the atmosphere, my peers and the people. (It's been a rough week.) 8 years is a long time & I feel abandoned and helpless right now.. I have been job searching since November since we first found out we were closing, however no bites...& either I'm "over qualified" or don't have a piece of paper stating I went to college with a degree.
Now for the icing on my lovely piece of cake for today....Due to my applying and going through the pre-surgery process with United Health care while employed for my company, this was considered the "governing" insurance.
I won't have coverage with United until the COBRA paperwork comes in which will be around 2-weeks, however once I sign up with COBRA..even though it "retros" back to today...It's considered a NEW COVERAGE...So
I CANNOT APPEAL THE DENIAL!
My surgery will be TOTALLY out of pocket. I imagine I can get a little back with the gallbladder coming out...but not much. This has got to be the most annoying & frustrating thing I've gone through (next to my divorce LOL ) Between my severance & stock options...I should be able to cover most of the surgery, BUT that was my nest egg while I'm looking for new work...now that will be gone...
I need to refocus on the surgery next week...I just feel like the rug keeps getting pulled from under me...I always believe that God doesn't give us anything we can't handle...I just hope he takes over the handling soon...
Thanks for letting me vent all,
Mickey

Mickey,
I am so sorry to hear of your blue Friday. Mine wasn't so great either, but this is about you. I have no idea what you do or what your "qualifications" are, but I do know by the simple fact that you are committed to this surgery that you are a fighter.
Not sure if this helps but the State of CT lifted it's hiring freeze as of a few days ago so check out all of those sites.
I wish you well and give you hope,
Cheryl
Mickey,
I am so sorry that you have to deal with so much unrest with your surgery right around the corner. Thankfully you have the funds, but I know it comes at a huge cost for you in other ways. Praying for you to find be able to focus on having a successful surgery/recovery and that all the other issues regarding job and insurance will work out as you get well.
hugs,
terri
