Dr. Tishler/ New to site/ Pending approval

Hello,

Does anyone have Dr. Tishler?  What has your experience been like?  My file was sent to the insurance company on 11/10, I am praying for approval..  How long did it take you to get approval once it was submitted???   I am so excited about this website,,  I would love to hear about your stories and experiences..  Thank you.

Did not have Dr Tishler, but have only heard good things about him. My insurance approval took about a couple of weeks.

Mee!! me!! me!!! I do, I do..He and his staff are wonderful..they are laoways there to answer the littlest and biggest questions and yes he takes his time with you..Did I say he is wonderful!!!

Thank you all so much for your replies!!!  I just found out on Friday afternoon from my insurance company that they approved my surgery!!!!  I have not heard from Tishler's office..  I am so excited!!!!!!  I hope they get my in quick for my pre op date..  I know Tishler does not schedule the surgery date until you are the pre op..  I am hoping to have this surgery sometime in early December!!  Keep your fingers crossed...

Congrats! I would wait until Jan since it will be a new year for insurance max out of pocket.  I could have had mine in December but thought about the deductables and waited an extra month. Boy am I glad I did since I ended up with a second surgery 7 months later and just had another surgery on Thursday. Nothing to be concerend about, just a scar revision on the foot but it was with a Plastic surgeon and insurance approved it and paid for it. I had 3 surgeries and 3 "proceedures" (upper endoscopy) for my max out of pocket in one year. Sorry if I am babbleing, still a little drugged. That's my excuse and I'm sticking to it.

DId not have him for WLS as I was living out of state at the time.  Since moving back to CT, he has done a great job at taking care of me.

He is my doctor but did not do my surgery. I started out with him when he first came to Hartford Hospital. I was a very high risk patient on Medicare. He wasn't certified for Medicare yet. We waited for almost three years......... My weight was up to 435 lbs. I was desperate so he sent me to the hospital of St Raphael in New Haven. On November 7, 2007 I had an open gastric bypass done for Dr. Reinhold. I returned to Dr. Tishler's care this past July because I needed someone local. He is wonderful and actually runs his own support group! He doesn't focus on the numbers on the scale but rather on how we feel............................Marianne

Wow, congrats on your weight loss!!!   You must feel like a new person..  I have been hearing Dr. Tishler is excellent, that is making me feel so much better.  I am very worried about having this surgery.  I have my pre op appt this Friday and will get my surgery date then!  Thanks Marianne!

LOL Yeah Dr. Tischler is really good. My surgeon said he was the second best in CT. I of course had to open my mouth and ask who the best was. Got a glare from him as I LMAO. He laughed then when he realized I was messing around.
