Exclusion rider?

Can anyone suggest how to get around the insurance exclusion rider? Does anyone have an appeal letter or any ideas about how to get around the denial? The insurance is Cigna. This is for my best friend who found out today that she was denied and is totally bummed out. Thanks guys, Melissa.

Hi Melissa, I'm also having the same frustrations with United Insurance. They're now telling me that there is an "exclusion ryder" in the policy, when during this whole process, each time I checked in with the insurance company, they kept saying the surgery was covered. Very frustrating. I'm working on appealing the decision, and if need to will hire an attorney as a last resort. If I come across anything of assistance to your friend, I'll be sure to share.
