Surgery Date
Jessica
Hi Jess,
I'm happy your surgery got pushed up...I know what you're feeling with the mess you're going through & I'm sending all good thoughts your way,
I heard from Dr. R's office & I am APPROVED for revision & whatever else might need to be done. My date is 1/6/09...It's was tenatively next week however insurance stalled their decision & that's the next date he can give me.... I'm dissappointed as my throat CONSTANTLY feels like it's burning.. lump in the throat.. & the pain, cramping, nauseau is just out of control.
I managed a few very small bites of steak & a few bites of scrambled eggs tonight.. of course it hurt as it finally decided to go through but it was a victory that it was a little solid for a change.
I am paying for eating the little steak I did try.. OMG.. hurts like HELL..
I was hoping we'd be in the same week so we could walk the halls together after recovery.... :(
I'm excited you're so close to getting rid of all of your issues... I know we're in excellent hands with Dr. R & I know we'll walk away at the end of this new journey wiser, stronger, & definately more knowledable about what a good Dr. should be about.. (Sigh)
I do have some appts with Andrea & I have to go to the pre-op seminar with hubby... not sure why as I know what I'm getting myself into.. (again) and what to expect etc... but I'm being a good patient & doing what I'm told.. LOL...
Everythings back to back with the meetings & appointments...so I should be good to go.. now it's just a hurry up & wait thing... I wi**** could have been done next week as it was originally scheduled.. I'm disappointed but will hang in there.
I'm just soo happy insurance approved they originally stated they needed more "medical" however Dr R did some type of magic on his end & next thing I know it's approved.. YIPPEEEEE... The nurse said the documentation with all of my mess from spring was enough to convince them that it was much needed & a definate Failure with the original surgery due to the "nice" way our former Dr "fixed" me in April & how he did my original surgery...
Dr. R is feeling the same thing that when he gets in me the day of the surgery there's going to be alot more to fix than just the two pouches.. If it takes him 10 hours I don't care as long as it can be done... (sigh) nip, tuck, pluck, bend... whatever he needs to have happen.
It sucks that you'll be in the hospital for the holiday.. BUT on the positive.. how appropriate that it's being done in the NEW YEAR.. new health.. new outlook on things.. It's a new "re-birth" day with the WLS.. this time done right... :-)
Call me kiddo if you need anything at all...
PS did you go to the support meeting & how was it for October?
I'd really like to go to November's if you have the date.. now that I'm feeling better we can maybe get our JAVA on before the meeting?
Huggarroooos,
Mickey
Yeah, lets make plans for this months meeting - at this point coffee is the only thing (well, and my protein shakes) that I can tolerate!
Jessica
I'm pretty much in the same boat as you... Majority is fluids.. protein drinks & my one Vice I give myself coffee w/ff or low fat creamer.
That's awesome he wants to be there for you the whole time of your recovery Jess.. that says ALOT for Dr R's caring & commitment to you.
Did he say how long you'll be in the hospital? Is he going lap or opening you?
I'd like to come & visit you in the hospital once you're mobile... God I dread having a catheter again.. for me that was the worst experience the first time around... UGH...
Hugs,
Mic
Good luck..keep us posted...
