Can anyone give me advice...
Don't worry to much about the psych eval. I was really worried and found that it was really easy. They are really going to just ask you about your family history, what you eat and why you eat. Just be honest and look em in the eye when you respond. I just told them that I eat because I "like" to eat and have difficulty controlling myself. They will also ask about your diet history and why you think you may have failed. They also ask what your expectations are for the future after surgery....I was just honest and said that I was looking forward to doing all the things that I feel I'm missing out on now like buying clothes and keeping up with and having fun with my kids. I told her that the bigger I'm getting the less I want to do just because it takes sooo much effort with all the extra weight to haul around...You know like if the kids are begging to go on a bike ride, I want to be able to say YEAH! Lets go instead of not right now or making excuses. I really feel horribly guilty about the excuses I make to not be active with my kids. We all lose out because of it. Soooo...good luck to you and I'm sure you'll do great.
Hi Maggie
Yes it was Chris and he was good at making me feel comfortable. I just was worried about what not to say or what to say. I had heard so many different things by others and I told him that. He said the same thing everyone said...be yourself there ar eno right or wrong answers! Well it worked out great! Thank you so much for your words of advie they are very much appreciated.

KRISTA
I KNOW HOWYOU FEEL. I WAS AFRAID THAT IF I WAS MY USUAL SELF THE DR WOULD DISCOVER I WAS CRAZY AND WOULD NOT APPROVE ME! WHEN THE DAY CAME I WAS JUST HONEST ABOUT WHY I WANTED THE SURGERY AND WHAT I EXPECTED. THEN HE GAVE MY HOMEWORK. YES, HOMEWORK. ANYWAY IT ALL TURNED OUT GOOD. IT IS NOT A PASS OR FAIL. IT IS A "DOES THIS PERSON REALLY KNOW WHAT THEY ARE GETTING THEMSELVES INTO", ARE YOUR EXPECTATIONS REAL,AND MENTALLY CAN YOU HANDLE THIS.YOU WILL DO FINE.
GOD BLESS

Hi Krista:
I was surprised they didn't take me away right then and there. The doctor wants to make sure you are psychologically ready for the changes you will need to make before and after surgery. You have to change your entire way of thinking about food. He will ask if you've had any food-related illnesses (anorexia/bullemia) and why you've decided to have the surgery.
Be honest and be very relaxed. Honest - if they cleared me, they will clear you too.
GOOD LUCK!
Tara
