RE: denial of Lap band

My surgeon's office said they will fax a letter of appeal on monday and advised me to also contact the Ins co. I put a simple letter together specifying why I want the Lap Band as opposed to RNY and mailed and faxed it to them. I hope I didn't make a mistake. Should I have let the doctor handle it???? I advised in my latter that the surgeon will also be contacting them.
