This is an email from my hubby who works at Aetna: This does not mean it has been added back to every plan, it may only be Aetna Employees Bariatric Surgery Reinstated as a Covered Procedure Bariatric surgery (gastrointestinal surgery for people who are severely obese and who suffer from serious obesity-related health problems) will be reinstated as a covered procedure for all Aetna health plans. There will be a member cost-sharing of 50 percent, with no lifetime maximum. To receive this benefit, members must use a preferred care (in-network) doctor and hospital.
