Self Pay

anyone out there self pay? If so, how much was yours (for any of the surgeries)? And did anyone have their surgery with Fairfield County Bariatrics?? I'm thinking of doing the lap band. No place in MA will accept self pay patients anymore so I'm looking in other states and they seemed good because they use BLIS or whatever it's called (something to help self-payers). Anyways, any feedback is much appreciated!!! Thanks!!

I self payed my RNY in 4/2005 at St. Francis Hospital.. the whole kit & kaboodle cost about $11,000.00

My tummy tuck/ lower body lift I had done just about 2 years ago out of Johnson Memorial.. & it was 7grand for everything.

I did claim both surgeries on my Taxes as a deduction.

HOLY COW!!! That's cheap!!! How'd you get such a deal??? And for RNY?! The other day I got an estimate for the ONE place in MA that said they'd do self pay and the LAP BAND was $30,000!!! I'll have to check them out! Thanks!

I received a discount as I paid up front.  Hospital stay was the most expensive close to 6grand.  My surgery was around 3 grand.. incidentals & anestesia was the balance.

Definately shop around.. however most important.. focus on a GOOD doctor with a good track history and one that you know has your best interests at heart.

You can self pay at Yale also as long as your credit is decent...... $11,000 ish?? 

Check with Dr. Aranow's office too - in Middletown...

 I did self pay in aug it was 16,500 for vbg

My daughter had the Lap Band done 8/8/08 at Fairfield Bariatrics and we self payed because insurance wouldn't pay because her BMI was to low. I think the whole thing cost like $17,300 or $17,800 I can't remember which. We gave them individually bank checks because they go to different people... hospital/dr/anesesialogist (sp?).. etc. That amount is also suppose to cover fills.
