Im new around here and just wanted to say hi and introduce myself. I am scheduled for lapband surgery on 4/20 and I am excited...just nervous about the pre-op diet that starts on Monday! I go for my pre-op apt tomorrow but I think my doc and my research has answered every question I have for now.......I know there will be more once I have the surgery! I hope everyone has a wonderful Tuesday evening! ~Meg

Hi Meg, Welcome, and congratulations on your upcoming surgery!! The pre-op diet is tough, no doubt about it, but you can do anything for two weeks, right? Just think about the payoff at the end - you get to have surgery and start a whole new life! Good luck to you! Anne

Hello Meg, Welcome to OH. I know the pre-op diet is going to be tough but every day will get easier. I just had lap-band on 3/3 and it was the best thing I have ever done for myself. Anytime you have a question, just post it here and somebody will be able to help you. Good luck

Thanks for the welcomes and encouragement! I had my pre-op appointment today and feel really confident and excited about everything...except the diet lol Still nervous but I am going to sit down this weekend and plan every inch of it out and buy everything I need so that I am prepared and know what to expect each day....maybe some of the nerves are my lack of preparation for the diet and not knowing what I will be able to eat (havnt reviewed the info in a few months) Im glad to hear so many positives...it really helps! I met someone on my surgeon's page who is having her surgery (RNY) the same day and we actually met at the office today (Hi!) so we can whine to each other along the way lol

Congratulations and Welcome!!!! I am almost post-op too - my surgery date being 4/5. So, I feel your nervousness. No matter how many people tell me its going to be okay and I KNOW its going to be okay, I am still freaking out! Good Luck, Phyllis
