The Insurance and Real Estate Committee bill (S.B.1300) that would have prevented insureres from excluding weight loss surgery died in committee. It was never put on the agenda for the Committee's final meeting of the legislative session. As a group, we should use the time before the next session (when all bills will have to be re-introduced, re-submitted to committee and then lobbied for all over again) to speak with our legislators and evaluate what kind of bill will most likely be able to be passed.

Email me privately and advise me how we speak to our legislators and I will be happy to help this again. We should invite all of legislators to our private group support to listen our success and this sugery saved our life and we can tell them that this surgery save MONEY for insurance company to pay pills or doctor fee etc... We are not give up this! Kathy K

It's disappointing to me that of EIGHTEEN people on that commitee, NOT ONE could be bothered responding to my email. I guess they're not real big on paying attention to voters and taxpayers!
