In a little over 2 weeks I will be in surgery and over to the losing side, I am excited and scared all at the same time. I am still trying to get my house in order and make sure everything is done before I go off for surgery. It almost feels like I am going to have a baby, but instead of briging home a tiny infant I am gonna bring home a tiny new tummy. I just can't wait to be losing and feeling better. Heidi

Good luck to you in your journey to the losing side. You are the right road to a very happy life. I wish you all the best and you will be in my thoughts and prayers for a safe and successful surgery. Make sure you bring a pillow with you for comfort, when you cough, sneeze or laugh it will be a little painful, this will help tremendously. I got this advice from a fellow WLS member. Good luck and God Bless Hugs KimC

Thanks I remember from my gallbladder surgery the hospital pillows suck, so maybe I will bring 2, one for my head and one to hug. Although my boyfriend has bought me a cute cuddly panda bear to hug to my tummy and this bear actually gives you a real hug and coos like a baby. Its actually a childs toy but I begged him to get it for me for Christmas so I could take it to the hospital. Its kind of funny to be feeling so excited to have surgery, but this really is a sureal experience. I only wish my mom were alive to see me get healthy and thinner. Heidi

Heidi, Good luck with your surgery and everything that comes along with it. I had lap band surgery 2 weeks ago and my doctor actually gives us a "bariatric buddy" which is a big fat teddy bear to hold onto when you cough or sneeze. Trust me, the sneezing is way worse then the coughing. Also, when you are on your way home, keep the pillow with you in the car because the bumps are killers. Don't worry too much about losing your hair, my nutritionist said the key to not losing your hair is to get enough protein and take your vitamins like they tell you to. Good luck and we'll see you on the losing side. Patty
