Revision

So, yesterday I was having a really crappy day...work is so busy that we are on madatory overtime, customers are cranky and I wasn't able to get my pouches in sync together so that I could actually eat.  Water at that point was killing me...

My cell phone sits on my desk but i can't answer it until breaks or lunch...I see my Dr.s' office # flash across the screen and I thought to myself, after the day I've been having this can't be good...so I finally check my voicemail and all it said was to call the office...

I call the office and Rosemary says in this really quiet voice, you're approved...for everything.  I was so shocked that I brust into tears.  It is such a bizarre sitaution that I am getting ready to pass my 6 year anniversary of surgery (10/21/02) and now I am planning my revision...My surgery date is 1/6/09...I have all my appointments scheduled and everything will be done as of 11/11/08.  From that point on all I will do it wait.

I can't believe that I am finally going to feel better...but I am worried about loosing too much weight.  I really only have about 30lbs to play with (that will put in at or around 99-100lbs).  I am only 5' tall so being that small is ok but I think I'd look funny that small...not to mention that I am already wearing a size 2 in jeans...

I have so many questions but mostly I just want to feel better and not treat food like the enemy just because I feel horrible after I eat...

Jessica, how wonderful for you to get approved. I do hope this revision surgery will be the answer to your problems.

Thank you!

All I am looking for it to do is to fix the surgical problems that my 1st butcher of a doctor created!  I want to be able to eat and drink like a normal WLS patient without heartburn, bloating and most especially, pain.

Hey Girl,

I've been away from the computer & just catching up.. I'm sooo excited for you & your surgery.. It'll be here before you know it!  You'll be feeling better & be able to eat like a "normal" person.. LOL.. (at least normal for bypass)

I go for a major stress test this Monday at the hospital.  I'm blessed that because *unfortunately* I have had so many tests/surgical crap happen to me since March I don't really need to go through anything else except the nutritionist.

I did touch base with Dr. R's office today & the nurse there called me back.  He's still dictating the letter to go to insurance to get me (cross fingers) cleared for my overhaul & revision.

The cardiac Dr.. was a little surprised of what I was going through when he asked me why I was going in for surgery with Dr. R.. I told him for a "botched WLS" the first time around.. he didn't take kindly to the word "Botched" however it is what it is...  did tell me that WE have one of the best Dr's taking care of us so that made me feel like a definately made the right decision.

I'm hoping that the insurance will clear by/before end of  the year as I've hit my maximum pay -out of pocket so insurance will have to cover in full.  I'm still paying for my spring time fiasco..

Jess.. do you have to go through all the testing all over again or is Dr. R just having you do specific ones related to surgery?

Hugaroos..

Because of my sleep apnea he wants me cleared thru Dr. Preskinis and also Dr. Freund and I have to meet with Judy.  He just wants to make sure that I am ok.  All my appointments I scheduled for one day (a day that I have off from work) so its really no big deal.  At this point, I just want it over!  I talked to the insurance company last night to find out what this will cost me out-of-pocket.  I was totally shocked when they told me that my hospital stay will only cost me up to $150.00!  Thank goodness I have good insurance!

So, are we still on for Tuesday?  I was thinking that we could meet at Au Bon Pain before the meeting, grab some coffee (my drug of choice!) and then head to the meeting?  What do you think? I'll send you a message with my cell #.

Take care of yourself,

Jessica

Hi Jess,

That sounds good... I'll call you Monday night to setup a time etc...

I came down with one nasty cold since Thursday.. & it appears now that my computer has a virus.. pop ups keep happening & I can't get into this website or emails without issues...

Been hybernating all day today with fluids.. & popping tylenol.. UGH...

It's our 10 year wedding anniversary & we aren't doing much.. with me feeling under the weather & not eating..... when I'm up to it we'll plan something a little later like a weekend retreat of sometype.

Talk with you soon,
