Over 50 Lbs. Lost!
Hi, All!
I didn't want to say anything when I got to my 50-lb. mark a couple of days ago because my weight tends to move up and down within a 1-2 lb. range for a few days before continuing to move down a few lbs. Then it moves up and down, followed by a few days of continuing losses. (Kind of like...rinse and repeat LOL) But as of yesterday I've lost 51 lbs. since surgery and today I weigh the same as yesterday, so I'm pretty sure I won't slide below the 50-lb. mark. (Not something I could have ever said before surgery!) So I've lost 51 lbs. since surgery and 69 lbs. since my 1st appointment with Dr. A., and I have less than 100 lbs. left to lose to get to my goal. In other words, I'm more than a third of the way to my goal.
I've also gotten too small for the winter jacket that I've been wearing for the last few yrs. (size 30-32) and now fit once again into the one I had outgrown (size 22-24) when I bought the more recent one. Of course the older one has been hanging in my closet for several yrs. as I didn't throw it out because I kept telling myself that one day it would fit again. "One day" is here!
I also have to share something that happened to me last night. I went to a meeting and stopped at Shaw's on my way home to pick up a few things. There's a couple I've known for about 5 or 6 yrs. (only at my heaviest weights) whom I usually only see when I run into them at Stop & Shop or Shaw's. I guess our schedules have been very different because I haven't seen them in a little over a yr., so they had no idea that I was planning to have WLS. I was at the deli and when my turn was over, I turned to go to the produce section. I saw that couple standing a few feet away from me, so I went over and greeted them. They're the 1st people I've seen since WLS who didn't know that I was planning to have WLS. They commented on how good I looked and I told them that I'd had WLS. After we spoke for a few minutes, the husband admitted that while I was standing at the deli counter, they were debating whether the woman they were looking at was me! That felt terrific!
