has this ever happened to you?
I am about 6 weeks post op and have not lost an ounce in at least 3 weeks. I am exercising my butt off. 3 times a week doing an aqua fitness class for an hour. Im writing down EVERYTHING I put in my mouth and counting my protein, counting my liquid. Doing everything I can to get the protein in and the water in, and nothing. No weight loss. SO WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH ME!!!!!!!!!!! WHY CANT I LOOSE WEIGHT. IM TERRIFIED THAT THIS IS IT, IM NEVER GOING TO LOOSE ANOTHER OUNCE. PLEASE HELP IM SCARED.
Lauren,
Its ok, don't get yourself all worked up about this. You will lose. It sometimes comes off quick and sometimes doesn't. I am 2 months post op and have lost 52lbs. But everyone is different.
Make sure your not eating too fast, get your liquids in and your protein like your doing and give it time. I promise you it will start coming off. If your getting really upset call your surgeon and ask them if your doing something wrong.
I don't think you are, but everyone's bodies are different. You have to give yours time to heal and use to the changes.
Keep your chin up and try to relax. If you need any one to talk to drop me a line anytime.
Take care sweetie.

Lauren,
I know what you mean, and i felt the same way. But, in talking to Linda and Dr. Bell, they say your body needs time to catch up with itself. You may see three or four weeks of losing nothing and then BAM!!! you lose 6 or 8 lbs in a week. I am slow at losing too with only 50 lbs gone in three months BUT...just think...we are all successes because we probably wouldnt have lost that weight if we didnt have this tool and it is that, a tool. Your body will catch up soon believe me and you are definitely not done losing weight. Just have what i have learned PATIENCE !!
Good luck on your endeavor..
ps...try adding a little more water..you will be surprised at your results !!

Hi Lauren:
Try not to compare yourself to others. I had what seemed to be plateaus very early on yet my body was continuously changing. I always thought my pattern of weight loss was very strange. I didn't seem to lose by the week. I would stay the same for several weeks and then all of a sudden 10 pounds was gone! I am now 15 months post op and have lost 145 pounds. It will happen for you too but your body will determine how and when. Hang in there.

Relax!!! Your body is just adjusting to all the changes. Also you may be loosing inches. Have you measured? Are your clothes looser? With all the working out you are doing you are probibly building muscle. This weighs more than fat. But muscle with help burn off the fat. Give your body some time. Don't stress out over this which I know is easier said than done but worrying won't do you any good. Keep up with the exercise and eating right and you will see results.
Best of luck.

Lauren,
Yes, this happened to me. I lost 20 lbs. in the first two weeks, then lost absolutely nothing for 4 weeks! You are in a hybernation mode. Keep up what you are doing, and then all of a sudden, you will drop weight like crazy.
I thought I would never lose any more weight either, but I did. I lose slowly, but I lose. I have been on 3 plateaus in 3 months. You may wind up doing this too.
If you need to talk to me, just e-mail me.

Lauren...BREATH! Relax!
It's your body's way of saying "hey! What the hell did you put me through??" Remember, first and foremost you had major surgery. You're body is in shock and trying to readjust.
I went through the same thing. The first 2 weeks I lost 20+ pounds, and then I didnt lose for 4 weeks or so. Then BOOM! I dropped 8 pounds. I would suggest not weighting yourself and either go by your clothing or by measuring yourself. We put too much emphasis on what the scale says, myself included.
You're not done. It'll happen, just keep doing what you've been doing and try not to worry.

Hey Lauren,
This is your angel 's advise.....THROW YOUR WEIGHT SCALE AWAY OR GIVE TO YOUR SON OR HUBBY TO LOCK IT AWAY!!! It drove you nuts or upset over nothing!!! Measure your body and I bet you lost some inches since you said your pant is losing!!! Forget about the numbers you lost weight and force yourself to do excercise, eat right foods and enjoy yourself than being so panic about why you did not lose your weight Please be patience and give your body more time . I promise it will happen that your body will change.

Hi Lauren,
I have been at 234 for a week..and fluctuating between that and 238 from water...I need to throw the scales away...not seeming to make progress drives me crazy..I hear all the common answers..but it is no fun when it is happening to YOU...no matter what anyone says..it makes no sense to me to eat 800 calories or less a day and NOT lose weight at a rapid pace...I am just going to keep increasing exercise...I did not have this surgery to lose under 50 pounds and call it quits. Some folks say to increase calories..but that idea scares me too..I'd probably gain back 20 pounds!
