Does it ever get easier to drink your fluids? I am almost 3 weeks post op and am finding it a challenge to get all my fluids in, does it get easier the farther out you get? Thank you! Kristin RNY 2/15/05 376/326/?

It does get much easier as you go along. I couldn't get in all my fluids for the first couple of months. Just take sips and get in as much as you can. Soon enough you'll be able to get them all in. Maggie

Hi Kristin, Well, let me tell you, I have more issues regarding getting in my fluids still, after almost 18 months, than anything else. I just set a goal every day and try to reach it. It's the only thing you can do is try, right? At 3 weeks I dont think anyone comes close to reaching that goal everyday. It will get easier, I promise. Good luck to you, -Deb

I walk around with a bottle all the time...(glad I had earlier practice with that while an active alcoholic....sober 8 years now...one day at a time)...64 ounces keeps me siping all day ...teas mostly....I was fortunte and had no problems drinking normally almost from day one. Drinking the MINIMUM of 64 oz everyday DOES get to feel like a chore... Sher' 272/234/????

Kristin-hang in there it does get easier. I am just a few weeks ahead of you (6 weeks tomorrow) and although I don't drink the entire 64oz everyday, I am doing much better. Water didn't even agree with me at first, but I found one I could tolerate and that has helped. Now I just need to find a way to get all the protien in!! Good Luck - Judy
