After a long negotiation with United Health Care, and more than a little assistance from someone in my HR department, I finally got approved! I should have the official letter within a week.

That is excellent news. I'm sure you are relieved. I had a few issues with UHC but finally got approved the second time around. Good luck to you. Do you have a surgery date yet? Which surgery are you having?
