4 weeks post op plateau - freaking out
I am 4 weeks post op and I have not lost 1lb all week. I have plateau'd at 35 pounds lost. I have my period all week, but that should not inhibit me from loosing weight. I have been following the doctors orders, so why am I not loosing weight. Im freaking out here. How on earth can a person who is eating no more than 8 oz of food a day, NOT LOOSE WEIGHT. give me a break, what am I doing wrong?
HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Lauren
I used to retain water when I had my period...from 5 to 7 pounds worth.
I have been at -30 since around last week or so...just went down 1 pound today...I need to stay off the scales...I think the body has to regain its balance periodically..and sometimes goes into starvation mode...you could try eating a little more or upping protein..but I bet 3 days after your menses ends you will have a drop.
I walk 2 miles a day..and the inches melt even when the scale does not mive..so I am content with that for now.

Lauren,
Relax Honey, it take time. Your body has changes to do right now, with all the medication and surgery it has to adjust. Take it from me you will lose it. I am post op almost two months and I have lost 45lbs. But the scale drove me crazy for a few weeks going up and down. Your doing fantastic so far.
Your not doing anything wrong. Keep drinking all your fluids and follow your food plans from the doctor. You will see pretty soon it will start coming off. I have spoken to alot of our WLS family and they all have gone through this. In a few months you will be saying why was I freaking out?
If you need any ideas or any advice don't hesitate to contact me at any time sweetie. You hang in there!!!!!

Don't worry Lauren,
I was two weeks out when I went on a 4 week plateau. Then the weight dropped quickly for about 2 weeks and I went on another plateau for two weeks. I am have now dropped 13 lbs. in 10 days. Some of us go through this, nothing to worry about, I guess our bodies just need to catch up. Just do what you're doing, get in the water, protein, exercise, and it will be coming off again.

Lauren,
Think about all the work your body has been doing in the last month--- enduring major surgery and dumping 35 pounds!!! PHEW!! that body has been BUSY!! I think it deserves a break don't you?
LOL, just kidding. But, WAHOOOO for you girl!!! 35 lbs lost, that is just wonderful!
I also stalled out at 4 weeks out and remember feeling like something went wrong, but all was okay. Now at 5 months out I find that at around that time of the month I will stall for a week or 2 which seems like forever but when I do the math, 75 lbs in 5 mos. is 15 lbs a month! I'll take that!
You are doing all the right things so hang in there and just keep following dr's orders. The weight will definately come off. I'll just bet you are feeling pretty great with 35 pounds gone forever!!
Keep up the good work.
