Good morning Everybody, I went to gym last night and do weight lifts for an hour and felt good after I finished with my trainer. Tonight I am planning to do push up, abs sit ups and 30 min on treadmill. I got some good informations to pass for all of you to read about excercise. Have a good work out! Kathy K What Is The Best Exercise For Toning Muscles? Most exercise will help to tone muscles. Ideally, your workout program should include a combination of stretching, aerobic and weight training exercises. In order to build muscles - rather than tone existing muscles - only resistance training/weight training is likely to add a significant amount of extra muscle. Weight training exercises are about twice as effective as aerobic exercises for building muscle and lean tissue. Does Exercise Help Me To Eat Less? Yes, exercise does help us to eat less. Exercise slows down the movement of food through the digestive system which means you will feel full for longer. Also, sustained exercise takes stored calories out of tissues causing blood sugar levels to remain stable which reduces hunger pangs.

Thank's for that information Kathy. Water aerobics tonight..I am looking fwd to a good work out. I think my last class is next week..and the program doesn't start again until mid April. I am really going to miss it... The weather is warming up for walking outside..so between that and my WATP videos..I should be ok. Joanie

Kathy I am going to sign up for water aerobics again..and again! I just wish there wasn't such a long break in between. I may check the YMCA in Hamden and see if there are more regular classes..I could go right after work since I work in Hamden three days a week. Your blub on resistance training was good...with the floatable bar bells in water aerobics..there is plenty of resistance training...trying to keep these things under the water while you are exercising! Joanie

I did my two mile walk and weight lifting routine yesterday. Today the exercise program for the day is doing housework. I've settled into a routine of cleaning the house/laundry and changing linens on Wednesdays. I don't have other commitments, so I can throw myself into my chores with gusto. All that running up and down the stairs has GOT to be burning calories! I've noticed that when I lift weights, the pounds drop off me. I'm sticking with the every-other-day regimen. It's working for me. Ann 104lbs GONE!

Good Evening Everyone, I had a great workout at the gym tonight! I did 40 Minutes on the elliptical machine, 25 minutes on the bicycle, and 7 minutes on the stairmaster. I was tired when I was done and didn't feel much like eating so I just had a 1/2 cup soup and a slim-a-bear klondike bar. Sandy

Sandy I am so proud of you with this exercise routine! I never believe I could enjoy any kind of exercise..but I love my water aerobics class. I didn't know anyone 8 weeks ago..and now we have formed quite a click. There is a six week break between classes...Four of us have agreed to go to the pool 2-3 times a week and do the exercises without an instructor until class starts again! I am so psyched about this!! I was worried about going that long before starting again. Someone mentioned joining Curves..but I am still not ready for the formal way of exercising yet...if ever. Right now-this is perfect for me!
