New high-protein vice
One of the news channels was reporting on the revised Food Pyramid last week, and was offering suggestions on how to get more dairy in your diet.
They pointed out that if you drink coffee in the morning, you're getting mostly water in your cup. They suggested trying a skim milk latte. If you get a 16-ounce cup with no sugar, you're getting about 12 ounces of skim milk, 12 grams of protein, lots of calcium, low calories and no fat.
I've never been a big fan of "fancy-pantsy" coffees, but I've changed from a regular cup of coffee to a latte and really like the idea that I'm jumpstarting my day with a lot of protein.
