I am 5 days post op. I have no problem drinking clear liquids whatsoever. I take in about 2-3 oz at a time. I have been home since Friday night. My stomach area feels completely bloated from 4 inched down from breast to just above belly button. It is like a wrap around pain. It is not a sharp pain but it is truly uncomfortable. Here is my intake for Sat and Sun: Sat-72 oz total Sat am 16 ounces ice water Sat noon 6 oz ff chicken broth Sat afternoon 22 oz Crystal Lite Raspberry Ice Saturday dinner 4 oz beef broth Sat Night 16 oz ice water During the night 4 oz water Sun-66 oz Sun Am 16 oz Crystal Lite Sun Am 8 oz Ice Water Sun noon 6 oz FF Chicken Broth Sun afternoon 10 oz Ice water Sun afternoon 6 oz room temperature water Sunday dinner 8 oz Chicken broth Sunday evening 12 oz Cran grape Juice No sugar added. Am I doing something wrong?

Wow! I was lucky to get 10 oz in one day..that soon post op! I am really not sure. I would like to see what others say. I think my orders were no more than 8 oz in one hour... I think that is the question..how much per hr are you drinking?>> Joanie

Oh my gosh!! You beat me!!! The firstweek after my surgery, I tried to get enough fluids in it but my pouch tells me enough. Kathy K

Good for you in being able to get your fluids in! Not everyone has problems in this area....everyone is different. I assume you are sipping pretty much all day! Taking in fluids is a good way to fix the surgery related bloated feeling..many folks retain water and are sore and swollen the early weeks after surgery. When in doubt..consult your surgeon's office for clear guidance. Sher'

Glad you're not having any trouble getting in your liquids. That can be one of the hardest probelms to have! You should keep in mind the guidelines for consumption in a time period that you should have been given by your surgeon. Remember, your pouch is healing, has little function and even less sensation at this point. It's just 'becoming' the tool it's going to be. So, go easy and follow your guidelines. I'm sure you'll be just fine. Best, Lisa
