Time off work
Hi there Delicia;
I think that each of us recovers differently. Also a lot depends on what type of job that you have and how physically demanding your job is. I had open RNY and Dr. Aranow said that I could return to work as soon as I felt up to it after 2 weeks. I am a signal supervisor on the railroad which requires me to be in the field as well as in the office. Because of this, I didn't go back for 4 weeks. I had just started the supervisor job, so I really didn't want to stay out that long, but I felt that I needed to. I know some people who have desk jobs who were back to work in 2 weeks or even less. I think that you need to listen to what your doctor and your own body tells you about when it's time to return to work. I hope this helps. Best of luck on your surgery and you'll be in my thoughts and prayers on the "Big Day"!!
Mike
My job requires a lot of traveling and driving, at least two weeks out of the month. I'm just worried about being out for a long time because I just started the position, but it sounds like I will probably have to be out 4-6 weeks. I wish I could have just been born rich, than I would have all of these financial/work concerns.

Delicia~
I've been following your posts, and I am so happy your job will work with you for your surgery. It's so important to take care of your health, because without that, how can you feel your best to help others? I have a desk job and went back after 3 1/2 weeks. I wish you all the luck in the world.
Hugs~
Stacey
