Hair Loss

Does anyone have any suggestions for hair loss. My hair started falling out about 3 months ago and at that time I started using biotin (5mg's a day) and a natural shampoo/conditioner with biotin. It didn't stop, but seemed to slow down.  Recently  it has flared up again.

How long does this last. Does it grow back?

Any ideas other than shaving my head will help.

First of all be sure you are getting in enough protien, at least 80 grams a day. Your hair will grow back and the loss should stop, if not another thing that can cause hair loss is if your thyroid is out of wack and you coulod get that checked out.

Nancy,

I take 30 mg of biotin a day....I use Biolage hair thickner and biotin Shampoo and Conditioner....

I have had so much regrowth, the last time I got my hair cut the hair dresser thought I had been through chemo..

good luck!

I get my biotin shampoo and conditioner from Swanson vitamins ...www.swansonvitamins.com

very inexpensive..  if you go to the website....and type in biotin shampoo...it gives you two choices...I use the Natural Biotin Shampoo and Conditioner by Jason Cosmetics

I also get my biotin pills from there...cheap!

I do pay more for the biolage thickner...I get that at Supercuts in Branford..but you can get Biolage from any salon....

how's it going?

I use Nioxin shampoo and it slowed the hair loss. I swear by the stuff. I think you can get it at places like Sally's. It's a little pricey (I paid around 10 bucks for a bottle and that was with a hair dresser's discount) but well worth it. I went from cleaning out my brush and drain from every other day to once a week.

I am going thru the same thing.  Mine started at 3 months out and stopped at about 7 months....now I'm 9 months out and it's starting AGAIN!  I have these little 1 inch long hairs sticking up all over the place from the first time it happened lol.
