Next week I get to start broiled or baked fish. I need some recipes for sauces for them, or something I can marinate the fish in. Anyone have anything. I will be 3 weeks post op by then. thanks Lauren

I am not a fish eater, but I did love canned tuna before surgery. Now I can't stomach it. If you like tuna, you can just try some of that with a little mayo. Pam

I've got a great new recipe. I never really liked fish before the surgery, but now I seem to want it all the time. Here is a recipe I use for Tilapia, but any kind of white fish will work. 1 filet of fish 1 small sliver of butter or 1 1/2 teaspoons olive oil 1 clove elephant garlic (or 2 or 3 cloves regular garlic) sliced very thin 4 oz clam juice (this is great source of natural iron that won't plug you up) 2 oz tomato sauce (preferably marinara and check sugar content) sprinkle of oregano sprinkle of hot pepper flakes sprinkle of black pepper use small saute pan that has a tight fitting lid. Put butter or oil in pan on medium heat and add garlic. Saute garlic til soft and lightly browned. Add clam juice and turn up heat to high. Let cook for about a minute or two, then add tomato sauce and spices. Lower heat to medium. Place fish in pan of sauce and cover. Let steam til cooked (about 3-4 minutes) I also sometimes cut the fish in half and place some cooked spinach and slice of mozzerella cheese in the middle of two halves. Trust me this is fabulous, but I did miss bread to dunk Hope you like it. Tee

That sounds very good. I will use this recipe in 2 weeks. I just had surgery yesterday and am looking forward to some real food. My father makes something similar to this. He adds some onions and green peppers and a can of tomatoes. It is real good..

This recipe is so simple and so delicious. And there are more great fish recipes (as well as others) at http://groups.msn.com/WLSRecipesAccess Bloody Mary Salmon 1 pound Salmon fillets 1 cup spicy bloody mary mix salt and pepper to taste Place salmon fillets in a medium size glass baking dish. Season lightly with salt and pepper. Pour spicy bloody mary mix over the fillets. Cover, and refrigerate at least 30 minutes. Preheat the broiler. Broil approximately 7 minutes, or until fish is easily flaked with a fork and surface is lightly browned. ***Tips*** ~ If you don't have Blood Mary Mix... try using V-8 juice with a couple dashes of red pepper hot sauce. I also add just a splash of lemon juice to mine... or squeeze on a bit of fresh lemon just before serving. You can use this same idea with any type of fish. I hope that you enjoy... Kim
