Hamden Support Group Meeting

Well I just attended the support group meeting in Hamden. It is held in the senior center behind the library. I have to say it was a GREAT meeting!!! The people are really supportive and the topics were great. I really got a lot out of the meeting. There were people approx. 2 years out to 5 weeks out and a few pre-op as well. It is not tied to any one surgeon though most seemed to be patients of Dr. Valin. I got some great handouts and food ideas. I really think this is a worth while meeting to attend. Don't get me wrong I LOVE going to the Yale support group meeting and I will continue to. I just feel I need more than 1 meeting a month. This group meets 2x a month on Mondays. I encourage any and all people to give this meeting a try. I know I will be going back. Chryssie

Hi Chrissy, I went to the meeting at Yale last week and am a "hamdenite". I did not know of any meeting in the Hamden area. I am having the surgery in 2 1/2 weeks and can use all of the help and support that I can get. Can you please send me the information about meeting times? Also, the senior center that you spoke of, is it at the Miller Library? Please let me know when and where. Thanks.

Oh my god! the meeting was great! I had no idea it was going to be as informative as it was. The people are great and it feels so good being able to talk about what's going on and know for a fact that others know what you're going through. I had been wanting to attend a support group for a LONG time. I am so happy that I went.
