Cold Cereal
Magaly -
I wouldn't do the cold cereal for a while. I remember waiting at least 6 months before trying it. But when I did try it again I bought the Atkins Morning start (YUK! - threw it away), and finally ended up going back to my favorite Kashi Good Friends. This is high in fiber and protein and I like the crunch. But even now, I tend not to have cereal more than once a month or so...
Good Luck!

Avoid it for as long as possible. It's not a great choice for a post op, as it's high in carbs and low in the ability to keep you full. Add in to he mix that you're combining your liquids with your solids (which is a BIG no no) and it's just not in the cards for us.
Additionally, many many people have difficulty with cereal after surgery. I'm 2+ years out and I STILL can't eat any more than 2 or 3 spoonfulls of cereal without feeling sick.
If I do eat some, because I still crave it sometimes, I limit myself to Kashi Go Lean or Total Protein.
Take care & have a great day!

Magaly,
I guess everyone is different, i have been eating cereal since about five or six weeks out...i have tried quite a few, i like the carb special k....it does have 5 grams of protein in it. i let it sit and get a little soggy first.
just my preference..but Dr. Bell was fine with it, as i went to see him today/

Magaly,
I eat Total Protein Cereal w/raisins or banana for breakfast almost every morning. I don't put much milk in it, just enough to moisten the cereal. I love the crunch factor and I do feel full for quite a while after I eat it. Also it's good on the protein 14g and low on the carbs 8.
Everyone is different in what they can or cannot tolerate though. Good luck
