Mon. & Tues. Night Meetings at Middlesex
Hi, All!
The support group meeting Mon. night at Middlesex Hospital (7-8 p.m.) will feature Elina (the dietician) discussing nutrition for both pre- and post-ops. I'm planning to go because during my appointment with Dr. A. yesterday he said some things about the beginning of the stage 5 diet that conflicted with what I remember Elina saying during my appointments with her. Rather than paying $60 out-of-pocket to see her, I'm planning to ask her some questions Mon. night for free (and I'll get some clarification sooner than if I had to wait for an appointment with her).
I originally wasn't going to go Mon. night because Joanie and I have planned to go to the post-op support group meeting Tues. night (also 7-8 p.m.), but schlepping to Middletown night after night makes sense under the cir****tances.
So who's going to which meeting? With whom will I be having dinner afterward each night? With 2 sets of leftovers, I'll be set for food for the rest of the week! Which is good, since I'm having my IVC filter retrieval on Wed. (back to Middlesex for the 3rd day in a row, but my wonderful angel, Joanie, is taking the day off from work to bring me there and back home), and I probably won't be up to doing more than just reheating some leftovers Wed. night and Thurs.

Hi Debby, Is the Middlesex support group meeting open to anyone? I had surgery at St. Francis (Dr. Barba) I'm very interested in listening to the dietician since I'm having trouble getting in protein. Also where is it? Is that the same place as the walk in / ER? Do they have meetings every Monday and Tuesday? Thanks

Hi Debby,
I will be there on Tuesday night fir post op support group meeting and I cannot make on Monday night because I switched my excercise on tuesday to Monday with my trainer so I can be there on post op support group meeting. I am happy that Joanie will drive you there and bring you back home on Wednesday and she is BESt angel
to you . I will see you this afternoon at Heather's babyshower party.

That meeting is open to everybody! Smile

Hi, Amy!
The meetings at Middlesex are open to everyone. In fact, a couple of weeks ago we had two post-ops who'd had their surgery at St. Francis. It's not the ER entrance; it's the main entrance. If you're coming from Main St. Extension and turning at the light onto Crescent St., pass by the ER entrance and turn left into the next entrance. When you go in, there's an information desk straight ahead. When you get to it, turn left, then take your first right and go down the hall. The North Conference Room is on your right about halfway down the hall.
The schedule of meetings is:
1st Mon. of the mo. - for pre-ops only - psychologist and dietician
2nd & 3rd Mondays of the mo. - for both pre- and post-ops - general discussion and questions
4th Mon. of the mo. - for pre-ops only - panel of post-ops giving presentation and answering questions
5th Mon. of the mo. (if applicable) - for both pre- and post-ops - dietician
1st Tues. of the mo. - for post-ops only - general discussion and questions
If you come Mon. night, please be sure to introduce yourself to me. My picture here is from 37 lbs. ago, but you'll still recognize me. Since you don't have a picture here, it would be hard for me to find you.
Hope to see you Mon. night,
Debby
