I am 3 years out and have gained 14 lbs of the 70 that I lost.  I have a follow up appointment with Dr. Aranow in 2 weeks.  I am trying to lose at least 10 lbs of the 14.  I am so afraid he is going to go through the roof when he sees how much i've gained.  I can eat almost as much as I did before the surgery and now I'm afraid that I have stretched the pouch so far that it will never get smaller without a revision.  Does anyone have suggestions that I might try to help me with that 10 lbs?  Then maybe I can stay on track and get myself back to losing weight or maintaing.
Please, if you have any suggestions I will appreciate them.
Thank you
Cindy

My only suggestion would be to go back to basics, don't expect to lose 10 pounds in  two weeks just so your doctor won't "go through the roof" . Start tracking your food intake and make sure you are getting enough protien and  be sure you are not drinking with meals, stop 30 minutes before and wait 30 minutes after. Exercise if you are not doing so. If after several weeks and you don't start losing then maybe the doctor should check to see if your pouch has stretched.

Eat dense protien first then add vegetables and whole grains and fruit in moderation. I truely  believe this is the best way, any other way used to have a quick weight loss may be just a temporary loss. Use your tool and let it help you get back to eating better and starting to lose that excess weight.

I am sorry if this is not the answer you wanted. But you can get back on track, just try it and if you have a little relapse just start again, don't wait until tomorrow to start, do it now.

Best of luck

There is another thread about something like this. We all agreed that Dr. A will not get pi$$ed at us for gaining and he will help us get back on track. We also agree that he cares about us. Don't stress too much since stress does NOT help weight loss. Good Luck

Cindy,
Ok, I can totally relate to you.  July was 4 yrs since my Lap RNY and I started gaining again...I was scared out of my wits about it.  I posted here and everyone gave me great support.
I was so determined to lose the 19-20 lbs I had gained, I promised myself that if I did, I would go and have a TT.  So, I went back to basics...Protein first, veggies 2nd, fruit third..NO BREAD, CRACKERS, etc.  I also started taking a yoga class and got my butt back to the gym!  I went in to have my TT in May and I was down 10 lbs.  I have since lost the remainder of what I gained.

I now weigh myself every a.m. and that keeps me in check.  I saw Dr. Bell last month, and he was soooo pleased and so was I.

I am sure your doctor would be concerned, but not angry!  Remember why you did the surgery to begin with (that helped me).  Another thing I did was watched TLC and all the programs they have on obesity and plastic surgery.

The key to the tools we were given are diet & exercise...one doesn't work w/out the other...no matter how hard we fight it,.....

Good luck!

Dr. A will be fine.  He doesn't like it when we don't go in to see him.   We are human and he knows that.... He and the Nut and get you back on track.  Good luck!!!
