1-Month Follow-Up Appointment
Hi, All!
Yesterday was my 1-mo. follow-up appointment with Dr. A. He moved me to the stage 5 diet... no more purees! It's so nice to take a bite of something and chew it. I'm now officially under 300 lbs. for the 1st time in about 8-10 yrs.! I weighed 293.1 lbs., so that's 25.4 lbs. lost since surgery and 46.9 lbs. since I first saw Dr. A. in Oct. I now know that fully dressed (including boots) on Dr. A.'s scale I weigh 8 lbs. more than I do on my scale at home (wearing almost nothing), so I can adjust what I see on my scale to what it would be "officially". That's good, since Dr. A. doesn't need to see me again for 3 mos. and I couldn't possibly stay off the scale for that long!

Hey Debby,
It must feel good to weight under 300
It took me for a while to chew it well because I eat too fast or did not chew the meat well which made me throw up but I know how to chew it well and eat slowly. It will take us to pratice to do it and use it. Fish are the easiest to swallow without throw up but like chicken and sir porl loin... I have to chew it well before I swallow. My pouch won t accept steak yet and I will go back to steak later. Good Luck! I know paying to dietican is an expensive.

Debby,
Congrats on the wonderful weight loss. You are doing great. Isn't it wonderful being able to actually chew something?? It was exciting for me and a bit scary too. Not knowing if I could tolerate something or not. But in time I learned exactly what I could/could not eat and exactly how much chewing each type of food required. Now it's like second nature.
I hope to see you on tuesday!
