HOW LONG NOW..................

HI I HAVE MY WLS DATE. NOW WHAT? ARE THERE ANY DR BARBA PATIENTS THAT CAN TELL ME ABOUT THERE EXPERIENCE. DID IT TAKE LONG FOR THE OFFICE TO REQUEST APPROVAL? HOW LONG DID IT TAKE TO GET IT? DID THE DOCTORE'S OFFICE CALL YOU BACK RIGHT AWAY? THE DR OFFICE TELLS THE PATIENTS ON THING, BUT SOOMTIMES IT TURNS OUT TO BE DIFFERENT. THEY HAVE CHANGED ALOT OF THINGS OVER THERE. ANY INPUT??????????? WHAT IS THE REAL DEAL?

Hi Congrats on getting a surgery date! I am now 15 days postop and I believe that it took about 2 weeks to get the call from the office saying that my insurance company approved the surgery! I know it seems like FOREVER but your almost there! WOOHOO hang in there and good luck with everything

Hi there, I am a patient of Dr Barba's. I am 2 months post op. From the day that I met with him (actually met with Dr Giovanni) which was a Thursday. I had my approval on that following Monday. They were great... Now that Felix is doing most of it not sure the timeframe... GOOD LUCK. Before you know it you will be looking back saying wow, that was fast! Carrie

Hi, I have Dr. Barba, scheduled for surgery 2/10. I had my appointment with them on 11/16. I was approved for surgery the 1st week of January. Initially, I spoke with Felix by phone the week after Christmas and they were in the process of accepting but came back that I needed psych paperwork. Felix resent it to them. Then the first week of Jan they denied based on no 6 month diet. I spoke with the insurance company and gave the info verbally and I was approved the next day. I have no idea when they submitted the paperwork. After approval, then they set you up for and endoscopy if you are having lap band. Then I had a lap band pre op class to go to and that was last week. Now I am just waiting for my surgery date. I really didnt have to do much at all. The office handles it all. Good Luck to you.
