When is the next meeting?

Hey guys! I have been wanting to go to a meeting for a long time. I wanted to attend the one in Middletown Monday night but I couldn't make it due to work. I live in Meriden and really, really want to go to one. Can someone tell me when the next meetings are? How do I find out when they are held and where? Thank you! ~AC

Aliza There are meetings on the first and third Mondays of the month at the Miller Library on Dixwell Ave in Hamden. They are not run by any doctors group in particular. The meetings are from 6:30pm to 8pm. Hope this helps Joanie

Joanie, Hello there how are you doing?? Hope your staying warm, its real bitter out there. More snow today here in Milford, how about North Haven. My sister-in-law, aunt and some friends of mine live in North Haven. What part are you in? I grew up in East Haven, then moved to Hamden when I first got married, back to EH and now we bought our first home in Milford, been here about 4 years. You have been so kind with your postings to me on the CT Board I just wanted to say hello and thank you so much. I hope I get the opportunity to meet you and some of the other members some day. Is this meeting for everyone that has had surgery, or is it specific. I was wondering, I live in Milford and the St Raphael's support is once a month I missed Janaury's due to being sick and the weather. Do you know of any local ones near my area at all?? Thanks Kim C

Hi, Aliza! There are meetings at Middlesex Hospital every Mon. night from 7 to 8 p.m. The 1st Mon. of the month is for pre-ops only, with a dietician and psychologist discussing (what else?) eating (both pre- and post-op) and mental health issues. The 2nd and 3rd Mondays are for both pre- and post-ops with usually no set agenda other than pre-ops asking post-ops questions and post-ops asking questions of each other if they want. The 4th Mon. is for pre-ops only, with a panel of post-ops giving a presentation and taking questions. The 5th Mon. (if there is one, like there is this month) is for both pre- and post-ops with a dietician leading the discussion. All meetings are open to anyone's patients (or potential patients), but most attendees are patients of Dr. Aranow. The meeting in Hamden that Joanie told you about is open to anyone, both pre- and post-ops. Hope to meet you sometime in Middletown, Debby
