HI everyone! Looking to make friends with others in CT, who have had surgery or are going to. I'm getting really anxious and nervous. Can you believe how cold it's been? Anyway, would love some support and to meet some new people. Have a wonderful evening! Christine

Christine- Welcome! And, congrats on getting your approval and surgery date! Who is your surgeon? We're glad that you've come to us for support and hope tat you will consider the board as a resource for all your questions and concerns, both pre and post op. I know that many others will join in welcoming you too... It's natural to be nervous! I think I cleaned out every closet in my house before surgery...and one twice! I just needed something to do to channel all that nervous energy...and it couldn't be eating...so...cleaning it was. Maybe you can use this time while you wait to start a small fitness regime for yourself. It will really help with your recovery from surgery. Just a thought... Best wishes are coming out to you for success with your WLS...and do let me know if you have any specific questions. Lisa C

Welcome to Ct Message board! We are here to support you and welcome you to our family. I was all emotion feelings before I went to have this surgeyr which is normal to feel that way. Try to find a new hobby like scarpebook or what Lisa said about starting small fitness to keep your mind off like walking because you have to get up and walk after surgery. Ask us any questions Kathy K

Hi Christine, Welcome to the WLS family. I had my surgery December 30th and I am doing well. I have lost 31lbs so far. I was anxious and nervous just like you. As long as you have alot of family and friends around you to support you it will be ok. Everyone here in the WLS family is very supportive, caring and helpful too. I had alot of well wishers and made some friends too. If you ever have any questions or concerns don't hesitate to contact me at any time. Good luck with your journey to the losing side and my god be with you always too. Take care and great luck!!!! Kim C

Hi Christine, I am having lap band surgery with Dr. Barba on 2/10/2005. I am looking forward to it. I have a preop meeting next week so that should be interesting. I am sick right now and on steriods and afraid of gaining weight from the steroids. I will probably have to do the liquid pre diet longer. Well good luck to you and nice to meet you. Joanne
