My daughter is in her second week of lap band surgery. We are having trouble finding protein drinks that actually taste good. We live in the New London area.
Any suggestions?

Hi,
Has she tried the ready mixed Isopure kool aide type drinks?  GNC in the plaza where Kohl's is sells them.  They come in many different flavors (grape, apple, punch, etc) There's 40 gms of protein in one bottle, but one bottle equates to two servings...

I also like the Isopure low carb chocolate powder mix for shakes.  I'd use the magic bullet, a small amount of milk or water and some ice cubes and grind it up like a frosty.

Unjury, www.unjury.com is medical grade protein that you can buy on line.  I used the unflavored for soups, etc.  It's one of the best, also.  THey also have flavors.

Good luck to your daughter...

Thank you for your reply.
We have tried to orange pinapple banana isopure and she likes that. I wasn't sure how much it is for that. I thought you had to dilute it with water or can you drink it straight out of the bottle?

I diluted the RTD Isopure (same as you are talking about with Paula) 50/50 in the beginning. It was too strong for me, but it is made to drink right from the bottle. It helped me with hydration and protein. I then switched later on to Real Meals protein powder and now use Isopure Meal Replacement powder daily in a shake and the RTD Icy Orange flavored from the bottle.

I have no suggestions other than Unjury. I used that when I made daily shakes. I did try the chicken soup flavor and that was good. I have an onion allergy so it was that one packet only for me. I am having a hard time finding a shake for me since I have a sweetner allergy. That being said I have no suggestions. Good luck in finding something. I have heard that some GNC's will mix a shake for you so you can try it.

I shall now be know as Hagatha: Queen of the queens.

I use Designer Whey Protein there are all sort of flavors.  100 calories low carbs 0 fat.

Chocolate & Vanilla are my favorites that I can get the most creative with.

I use  1/2 cup fat free/lower calorie vanilla yogurt, ice cubes and a little fat free milk or water to mix it.. gives a nice consistency like a shake.

I also buy the flavorings in the bakery aisle at the market for variety.. fresh fruit pureed into it also is good.. (Bananna & chocolate.. YUMMO.)

I'm RNY so not sure what your daughter can have this early out from lap band.

Right now it's basically yogurt and protein drinks. No pureed stuff till next week, which i'm sure she'll enjoy after eating yogurt for a week. Thank you all for  your replies. We need all the help and advice we can get to get through each stage successfully.
