I am just curious as to how long it took to get an answer from your insurance company once it was submitted to them. Mine was submitted on Friday and of course I am very curious as to what their answer will be. Is there a time limit or are they free to answer at their convenience? Any answers as to your experience will be greatly appreciated. Have a great evening. Lise

Hi Lise. Every insurance has there own time frame for when they respond. I know for mine (BCBS Century Preferred) I was told 10 days from the time it went into review. I would give them a call on Monday or Tuesday and make sure they received the paperwork and then ask how long for an answer. I know I also just called every other day (ok, maybe every day ****il they gave me an answer. I didn't receive the letter in the mail until after I came home from surgery. Heidi

Hi Lisa, It varies with insurance companies. I know that my insurance co (at the time was Health Net) got back to Lois within a couple days. BUt like I said, they all differ. I would bank on at least a coupe weeks that way if it is sooner , you will just be surprised. I know this is the hardest time because you've gone through so much and now you have to wait. It will all be worth it in the end. I promise. Best of luck to you. I will keep you in my prayers. ~Julie~ RNY 8/9/04 370/275/150

My paperwork was faxed in on a Thursday and I was approved by Monday. Anthem BCBS state preferred...(2004). I was lucky. I guess some of them can take their sweet time. I called on that Monday to make sure they had gotten the paperwork from the surgeon's office. Good luck! Sher'
