Depressed with the wait and weight
Hi Everyone,
I know all of us WLS patient's have to go through the pre-op wait (except for a few lucky one) but I feel like I'm never going to have this surgery. I've completed all my requirements for Dr. Barba and I am just waiting on an appointment with him so that I can get a date. I've called twice already (very politely) but I have received no responsel I'm starting to get discouraged that this surgery is never going to happen an very depressed.
I also just found out that I was given a new job positon (a very good one) and I'm caught in a dilemma of whether to accept the job with the possibility that I will be having surgery in the near future. The new job requires a lot of traveling, so I will have to be %100 better after the surgery. I'm almost wondering if it's fair to even accept the job even when I know I'm in the running for this surgery. Of course as sadistical as I feel right now I figure the date of the surgery will be in the year 2010
PS How can I get my profile jazzed up? I have some ideas on what I want it to look like, but don't know how to do it.
Thanks for listening to me rant!
Delicia

Hi, I have Dr. Barba. Did you have your last meeting with the nutritionist. I had my last meeting with Judy in August. I got a call at the end of September and got an appointment with Barba for Nov 16th. He then scheduled my appointment for surgery for 2/10/05, I wanted a Thursday because I have school on Wednesdays and that was the first Thursday he had open. It seemed so long but it comes quickly believe it or not. I know it is hard waiting but it will come. Good luck to you.

Hi Delicia,
A woman named Heidi did a good job on my profile and she left a link at the bottom of it...so if you like..go to it and hit the link..she got to me really quickly and really tries to fit the page to the person's personality.
I empathize with you having to wait..I personally could not have stood it.
I knew that Barber and Aranow had waiting lists up the ying yang...and opted for something different. I would have only had til July and my benefits woill change.....
Gee..you are on the horns of a tough dilema! I would hate to see you miss out on a great job...just remember you always have other options, especially since all the prerequisites are done.
Hope you get a break soon!
Hugs,
Sher'
Hey Delicia,
Sorry you are feeling down. Your day will come
. You will get a call one day soon and it will be shortly thereafter that you will be a Big Loser
.
My two cents, I would take the job and see how it goes. Your recovery IS going to be uneventful.
So cheer up and look forward to your two new opprotunities
.

He Delicia,
Take the new position. Don't even give it a second thought! All types of things happen to people - planned and unplanned - just because you know about your surgery in advance should not stop you!
Go for it, and enjoy all the good things that are coming your way!
God bless,
Kathy Bilodeau
