Hello Everyone, I wanted to say hello and let you all know how much I enjoyed reading your posts from this week. I have chosen Dr. Tim Ehrlich to do my surgery. Met with him on December 9th and have just finished the last of my appointments on Tuesday. Hip Hip Hooray. I have one question, my last appointment was for the endoscopic view of my stomach and they found two small ulcers. Has anyone had a similar thing and did it postpone your having the surgery? I have been taking Ibuprophen for 5 years three times a day due to a degenerated disk between L4 and L5. Looks like I need to cease taking it to get the stomach to heal. Hopefully the back will not flare up too much. Looking forward to having the surgery and would like it to be tomorrow. Yes I know everyone wants that. I was approved back in 2000 but my employer stopped paying their medical insurance premiums and subsequently closed so I was not able to have the surgery done then. This time I am praying that all goes well and without too much of a fight with the insurance company. Thanks for reading this. Have a great evening. Lise

Hello Lise, It sounds like you have had a rough time these past few years. Well now you know that there are people here just like you going through all the before be able to have the surgery. I kept changing my mind, then insurance changed with jobs. I had alot to think about before deciding. Your in the right direction for this journey, now you need to feel better and put up a good fight with your insurance and anyone else that gets in your way. Welcome to the WLS family and remember you are on a journey to the losing side like all of us here. Any time you need a friend just email or post and you will get responses from alot of lovely people including me. God Bless Good Luck Love Kim C

Hey Lise: Welcome to the boards, you've made an excellent choice with Dr. Ehrlich. He did my RNY 10-28-03. What an excellent doctor and outstanding office staff and support system. They are the greatest. I hope that your ulcer issues clear up and that you'll be approved for your surgery. I wish you all the best, if you need anything, I'm just an e mail away. I'm sure that I will see you at the support group. Good luck and God Bless, Bob 14 months p/o, -140 lbs

Thank you all so very much for the warm welcome. Well I received what I hope to be terrific news today. Dr. Ehrlich's office is submitting my case to the insurance this afternoon. So I am saying my prayers and keep my fingers crossed. I'll keep you all posted. Thanks again for the kind words. Lise

Hi Lise, I also want to welcome you to the Ct Boards! Good luck with the insurance approval. The time span seems to be going pretty fast for you, and I can only imagine that the loss of weight will also help your back pain. My prayers are with you. Sandy
