I see that some people have suger free hot cocoa and I was wondering when we are allowed to have it. I don't drink coffee or tea and I just assumed if you could have those things that you could have hot cocoa. I am nine days post op. Thank you in advance with any help on this. Love and Peace Anne B

Anne, I know all Drs are different. I had to wait until four weeks post op to be able to drink something other than clear liquids. Decaf coffee and decaf tea count as clear liquids..caffinated beverages do not...that is only my surgeon's rules though Hope this helps Deanna

All Dr's are different, but when I went home on stage 3 (full liquids) I was told milk or Carnation Instant Breakfast was OK. I reccomend warming up Carb Countdown Chocolate milk.... Warm liquids felt so good going down the first few weeks!!!!

if you're on anything but clear liquids- coffee, tea, cocoa, etc are fine. Stick to the decafe though. Make the cocoa with some skim milk or soy instead of water for a little added protein. Enjoy! Lisa C

ANOTHER OPTION FOR ADDING PROTEIN AND NO CAFFEINE IS THE ROCOMOJO COFFEE (MADE WITH SOYBEANS). IT IS HARD TO FIND BUT, I ORDER ON LINE. IT IS 13 PROTEIN AND 60 CALORIES. NO CARBS OR FAT. IT IS A GOOD REPLACEMENT FOR REGULAR COFFEE IF YOU NEED SOMETHING.
