Scheduled to have surgery in 2 days and im sick :(

I am scheduled to have surgery on the 13th (Thursday) and I have a horrible cold and sore throat. I went to the doctor on Sunday to make sure I didn't have strep and my test was negative. I am so scared that they might postpone the surgery has anyone had this happen to them? Either had surgery with a cold or had surgery rescheduled due to being sick?

Wow Amy, How horrible . My whole family is laid up with this horrible cold and sore throat and we feel awful. I hope it will have run it's course by Thursday.I'm not sure if they would do the surgery or not, But my prayers will be going out to you . Sandy

Call the surgeon and let them know. I had a runny nose and didnt feel well up to the surgery and the nurse told me the day before surgery when i called her. as long as i wasnt running a fever i would be okay..they usually take your temp and stuff on the day of surgery while they are prepping you and they dont want any surprises..just be honest with your surgeon as you dont want any complications !!!!
