I'm still in the research phase of this process...have been reading posts and profiles for a few months. When I see the before and after pics, I am just amazed and wowed by the transformation many of you have made. And the next thing I feel is fear! Lap Band surgery could be a life changing experience. Has anyone else felt afraid that this might really work? I'm not sure I'm making sense here, but what's it like to be THIN?? I've never had the experience!

I do not consider myself thin..not yet..but I can tell you being 75 lbs lighter than I was six months ago--feels fantastic. I am no longer out of breath from going up the stairs. I can walk without much effort. I can cross my legs and tie my shoes without being a contortionist! I still think of myself as a big person though. Tonight at my water aerobic class..we wear these belts..same ones the little kids wear to learn to swim. I always end up pulling the belt way out...so I can buckle it..end up having to pull it in again! Tonight on the way out..of the pool..I caught my reflection in the window...I stopped and took a double take..I looked good!! Its not easy..but it is oh so worth it..honestly. Blessings- Joanie

I agreed with Joanie. The most important are we feel alot of better than before we went to this surgery and we felt more healthier. We can do alot of active for everything than before. It is about feeling great and better than before but it is hard work do excercise and take care of ourselves. I am not lying you! Kathy K

Hello Michelle; Let me tell you that I felt the same way and that's totally normal. I prayed a LOT!!!! I thought that I wasn't going to survive the surgery and I thought what the heck if it happens it will happen anyways, but if you trust your doctor like I did because I did research for about one year and I think it was God who put Dr. Floch from Fairfield Bariatric Center at St. Vincent that I saw the ad on the newspaper and I went to the seminar and I did it!!! I had gastric bypass 5 months ago and I'm down 75lbs. I tell you when I went to the seminar the first time I could not believe my eyes when I saw people before and after and I did not believe in losing weight so fast but now I'm living it and it's the honest truth it feels wonderful, feeling so light beign able to walk up the stairs and not getting an asthma attack. You will feel the same way and lose the weight doing everything that the doctor tells you to do. So this is a one chance in your life if there is the possibility of you having the surgery, go for it. If you need support I'm here and I know the rest of us will be here also. God Bless you----Millie
