Hi Sher' love your new profile. Are you on your tribal rolls or go to any of the local pow wows? I am part Abinaki from the Vermont area and working to get on the rolls. Love the heritage and anything to do with it. Let me know if there is anything I can do for you. Make sure to have someone let us know how you are doing the day of surgery and keep us updated. Good luck with the upcoming surgery.
Heidi
HI Heidi,
I am working on the tribal rolls thing...complicated...my Mom was adopted by a caucasian family...and I know of my real aunts and uncles but only been able to find one...it is like a Native American version of Roots....staged during a very racsist and unfortunate time for anyone of any color born down South.....records burned.,,"mysterious fires" amd the like...it is a long process...I can retire in about 4 years with any luck and I have plans to move to North Carolina and be near the Eastern Band...I have been to a few pow wows in CT...did you know that at one time CT had about 250 tribes??? Especially along the CT river..and many in the Middletown area...and all vanished.....so sad....
Thanks for caring!
I will keep you posted!
Sher'

Know what you mean about the difficulties. Mine are giving me problems because in Vermont/Canada they were being termed as French instead of Abinaki. As far as the tribes here in CT I have relatives that are from some of those tribes. If you need help with your paperwork let me know. I know of someone that works with the department to get it done. If your interested there is also a Cherokee medicine man that lives in Waterbury and follows the customs. Have you been over to the American Indian Institute yet? I love that place. Let me know if you need anything.
Heidi
Heidi.
WoW..we will have to talk more...would love to hear more about the Medicine Man...I believe in the Healing Ways and other things I am sure you are familiar with.
I have not been to the Institute yet..is that out Roxbury way? Maybe after I get on my feet we can take a field trip??
Man..you know what? "ask and ye shall recieve" really is true!

Hi Sher
It will be here before you know! We have alot of room for you to join on losing sides and keep your seat warm for you ! SMILE! I was in size 3X before I went to have open RNY surgery. Now I am wearing 14/16 pant and top is 18/20 so far... It is normal to feel nervous before surgery. I was all mixed emotion feelings on the day of surgery. Now I am more happier and do not feel sorry that I had this surgery.
Hugs
