Hi Tara, The informational meeting that I attended he had 18 people that were going for the surgery and some people had someone with them, so it was a big group. Dr. Bell starts by explaining the surgery and giving all the pros and cons and opens up the floor for questions. You will get weight in that day only. Then after the meeting they will tell you a window when your surgery can be. I was there from 9am - 1pm, very long meeting but worth every minute. Anymore questions let me know... Good Luck

Tara: When is your informational meeting? This means you are near the finish line!!! You will be given a date range for surgery. You can bring your Mom with you. They do not submit to insurance quite yet. They usually do a few weeks prior to surgery unless you have a difficult carrier then they would do it a tad earlier. You sure can talk to Dr.Bell. He will have a question and answer session. If you have private questions you would probibly want to ask those at your pre-op appt. Have you been to the support group meetings at Yale? They are really great. The group is really good and Dr.Bell is usually there. I have been going for over a year now and I look forward to the meetings. I have made some great friends between there and this website. We are always here for you. Best of luck, Chryssie
