Went to my future daughter in law's shower last night and as I was walking out the door my mother asked me if I was going to wear those slacks I had on the the shower.
HELLO- Gift in hand, sausage and peppers in the car, keys in hand........   I asked why and she told me how bad they looked on me.  That they were too tight.  You have to love it.  UGH.
Yes I did wear them.  They were fine.  but I'm 54 years old and I still hear it.
Just thought you'd all like a laugh.

Glad you are laughing I get really upset at my mother for statements like that - and they are ALL THE TIME!

Just be glad that your Mom is still aware enough to make those remarks...some day, though they're annoying now, you'll look back and laugh.  My mom has Alzheimer's and is in a nursing home and my visits to her are the opposite now...I'm telling her that she needs to change her clothes more often, let the aides shower her and wash her hair, etc...It's so sad.  I wish I could for one more time hear her tell me, "Suck in your gut and hold it tight!"  That's something she always told me all my life, and her mom told her that....she hated seeing a pouch sticking out!

Now she's in pull up diapers cause she can't hold it on her own.  We start out in diapers and go out in them, I guess.

But, ya gotta love those comments our "elders" tell us.  My uncle came up to me once and said, "Hi Paula, jeez, you put on a lot of weight, about 50 lbs I'd say, huh?  LOL   Not, How are you, long time no see, etc. etc...that was years ago and I was still pretty THIN!
