I just had my surgery on Monday and I am only getting in about 10 - 12oz of water and 6oz of Ensure. At this point should I be getting in more? I am sipping all day even in the middle of the night, but I just can't get no where near the 32oz I am suppose too. How long usually it takes for me to be able to drink the whole 32oz? Besides the liquids I feel pretty good. I have been taking my vitamins and calcium also.

Just do the best you can. It took me quite a while before I was able to meet my goals for fluids. Keep sipping, you are doing great! Carmen

Magaly, It will take you a bit to get the water in, but try broth, and s/f popsicles..sometimes i felt it was easier to do the popsicles than the water. Dont worry....you will be up to where you are supposed to soon !!! Deanna

Hi Magaly, You might want to try decaf tea or herbal tea -- I found warm drinks easier to get down at the beginning. Hope this helps. God Bless, Kathy Bilodeau

It takes a good lone while, or at least it did for me. The chicken broth and decaf tea go in better than the cold stuff, or at least that was my experience. I did mostly broth, tea, and ensure. GOOD LUCK. JA

Magaly: Don't feel bad, I am doing the same thing. I was released on Saturday January 1st and am on stage 3 too. I try to sip all day too. I do drink alot of egg drop soup, suck on sugarfree icepops and use the Atkins Protein shakes. This really fills me. Its so hard to get all that liquid in on one day. Try to drink some Fruit 2-O during the day and see how that helps too. My thoughts and prayers are with you. We are on the losing side together and its going to be a great ride. God Bless Kimmie
