Lets Stop Feeding the Rumour Fire...

I have Aetna US Health Care, and have been told that my husbands company did not purchase the RIDER, so that it will NOT be covered for me in 2005......I'm pre-op also.....I know there are always exclusions, I wonder if I appeal if that will do any good????? I also have MediCare A and B secondary and have been told that they won't pre-cert any part of the surgery, you have to sign waivers before having the surgery agreeing to pay if MediCare dosen't.......They won't tell you if they will pay or not untill you have signed your life away.........My husband is up for insurance changes in March, I think, hopefully we can choose a new plan.....

He's saying it for the same reason my Doc was saying it at the last support group we had...because it is true! Sher'

Hello Deb- Thank you so much for your information on all of this, as you said unecessary nervousness on my part. I wish people would just find out what really is going on before scaring all of us. It sure scared me since my surgery was suppose to be in January 2005 and the Doctor moved it to December 30th. I was already approved anyway, but still it scared me so much when those posts went up. I got home on January 1st and feel fantastic. I wanted also to say thank you for your kind words to me in my profile. I really love knowing I have friends to talk with at this site. Everyone in WLS is so caring and compasionate. Its so nice to know there are nice people out there like you. Thanks again, I hope to have the opportunity to meet you some day and thank you in person. I am so upset as I waited 3 months to get into Dr Aranows office and when I did get there for my first appt they told me that they didn't accept my insurance.. BUT when I had asked before if they took Blue care family plan they said no so I changed to Healthy options.. I then called the office back and asked if they took Blue care and they said yes so I went back to Blue care. So all I did was wait and wait and wait for NOTHING.. I don't have a job so I can't ask my employer about it. My husband had United Health Care but I don't see that on there list of insurances. I am sure that I could get insurance to cover it as it is a necessity as I have Pseudo Tumor Cerebri (causes bad headaches) and it is supposedly related to weight and in the past 3 years I have put on OVER 160 lbs. This past year I have put alot on due to stress. WHAT DO I DO? I read these posts and I am SO jealous as I sit here so FAT and UNCOMFORTABLE!!!!!!!! Please help... Lisa
