Kathy's Excercise Log- Thursday
Hi Joanie,
I also have a problem with the treadmill being VERY boring also. What I have done is walk fast for 4 minutes than put it up to the fastest run I can do for 1 minute and I continue to do this for a half hour and the time really does go by faster for me at least, because you have to keep watching your time, I also found that doing the fast running seems to jolt my body into a losing mode again or at least in my mind I feel that way - smile - can't hurt to try it one time to see if works for you also

Good snowy morning everyone!!
I am at work, but pretty tired. My hubby snowplows, and he was up at 2:45 am, so I was too - briefly. I had to turn the coffeepot on for him - he didn't know how.
Then I was awake until about 3:30.
Then at 4:45 my coffeepot shut off and beeped three times - awake again...Then 5:30- time to get up.
I did exercise though.
I didn't want to, but I did it. Just 16 minutes on the elliptical machine, that's all I could do. My thighs are still sore from yesterday. But, some is better than none...
I feel good finally doing it instead of just sitting on my butt thinking about it. I will try other things too. Maybe my Pilates DVD - I bought all the stuff - the mat, the bands, and I got through about 5 minutes when I first bought it, and haven't used it since...I may even start using my treadmill again too. I actually like the treadmill. (Did I say that?)

I am so proud of you to not make an excuse for doing excercise even though you were so tired!
16 min is great than do not excercise nothing!! Your muscles are starting to wake up and is working on to build up firm toner. Keep good work up
If you come to the bowling party then I will give you big teddy bear hug!!!!! I like using treadmill too. Let's hope Joanie learns to like her treadmill someday! SMILE!!

I thought I was gettingup early today, but didn't. I looked at the clock and my eyes were blurry, I thought is was 5:30, not 6:30...oops. I did get up and make my husband lunch and clean off his truck and my Jeep so at least I started w/ a little activity. I also had to bring my daughter to work with me so we have been taking frequent walks. I am leaving at 1-1:30 then will go home, probably make a snow family (if it'snot raining yet!). Even if I don't get out in the snow, I will do housework and set aside some time tonight for my exercise ball. My husband may not be home tonight (he trims trees and is on stand-by in case of ice...) so it is hard to use the exercise ball since my daughter things it is a toy for her, lol!
Even if I don't get formal exercise I am going to make sure I am extra active today!!!!

Great!!! Keep moving around and walking alot are better than just sit down and watch TV. I do understand about excercise ball. My daugther likes to play with it but I told her when I need it then she will let me to use it then when I am done then she plays with it while I do other kind of excercise. My daugther thinks this ball is cool because it is so big ball to her! LOL

I think that is my daughters attractions as well! She always tries to sit on my lap as I do some of the sitting exercises... It's so funny. Maybe if I got her a smaller one she could "follow along".... I want her to get into healthy habits so she doesn't end up where I was.... But I don't want her to think she HAS to do this at her young age either. Finding balance is so difficult sometimes!
I plan on doing my yoga and for the first time in months I'm going to attemp to start doing Tae Bo. Wish me luck.
Beth- My husband belongs to the gym as well and loves it. He loves the fact that he can workout at lunch.

Funny you would mention Tae Bo,
A few years ago I bought the 6 or 8 Pack of all the tapes and all but one are still all sealed up, never even tried it. I think my apartment is too small to exercise in front of the TV. Maybe we should get a group together at a school gym or something similar and do the Tae Bo as a group, might make it more fun than a work out - smile
