Dear Gentle Readers, Please be patient with me. I have one last question....I got approved by Anthem in December for the January 19th surgery.... I am now sweating if they are going to play change up on me now that Jan1 is over and deny it at the last minute... I am a state employee and have Anthem State Preferred..enrollment period is May 2005. Logically it makes no sense to me that they would approve something in December if they were going to snatch it back in January...I am thinking the important thing was to get APPROVED before Jan 1... Thanks for listening..I am getting anxious and nervous and excited and a little scared. Sher'

If your enrollment period is not until May 2005, then there should not be any changes to your plan until that point. Most plans are renewed 1/1, therefor changes will take effect at that point, however your current plan is still in effect, not changing until 7/1/05.... Try not to worry, Carmen

Sher, RELAX!!!!, no one is going to pull the rug out from under you last minute. Once you got your approval from Anthem its approved. Its final. No one is going to change their mind. Relax your next few weeks. Enjoy this time, the holidays are over, the rush is over. Go thru your closets and start putting the clothes aside that you will never wear again. Figure out what you want to do with them. Use this time to focus on you before your big day. You and I are going to do just fine. Im in the boat with you. Lets enjoy the ride. Hugs Lauren

Hey Lauren! I was just looking through old posts for you..I was wondering "where the heck IS she?" Happy New Year my pal! Yep, I am just counting down the days now....and I am trying to relax..yeah I was worried about the rug thing...cause some folks ARE getting yanked around by their insurance ... I still have clothes I am waiting to get INTO..never mind the ones I'll never wear! I bought myself a bomber leather jacket 3 years ago while I was doing really well on a diet as well as some long sleeved french cut shirts...they have been hanging there this whole time...I ALMOST was in them..and I blew it! it will be a real milestone when I am wearing those shirts! I am so excited AND nervous!!! And a teeny bit afraid..I confess. Please keep in touch and thanks for getting back to me. Good luck on your surgery as well! (((( Hugs))))) Sher'

It's understandable that all these little things will pop in and out of your head until surgery day. Just try not to let them get you down. Hugs, Maggie

Hi Maggie! Hugs back! Thanks for writing...yes..EVERYTHING is running through my head...I am single and no family up here basically and kind of going the whole thing alone except for one "best friend" ..(and she is)..whi is also an APRN and will be taking me to the hospital, picking me up and looking in on me...I am racing around trying to get kennel arrangements made, personal affairs taken care of just in case...and soon will be looking to stock up on SF popsicles and other allowed items....I gotta go find some comfy sweatpants and stuff to lounge around in..hope I can find some humongus ones somewhere that are not too expensive.... Thanks for writing!~ and Caring! Sher'

I work for the State of CT also, they are carrying a rider to include weightloss surgery, you are fine, they will still approve WLS for State employees even after Jan. 1st, that is from the horses mouth, I spoke with anthem today! Best of luck, one less thing to worry about!
