weight loss surg. support groups in CT???
first, I checked with Dr. Bell's office, the only meeting they run is the first Tuesday of the month...so as far as one at Lawrence???? with Ed?? I don't know....this Monday is tight...lets decide...if you want to meet Thursday, August 14th or Friday, August 22nd...either is good for me! We can have the first meeting at Hammonassett at the West Beach pavillion at 6:15...because it is free after 6pm to get in! I would be happy to spend some time emailing those on the shoreline from the Members list and inviting them to a support group...but would ask for some help on the wording...we don't want to take away any thunder from Dr. Bell's group...but if we firm it up...I won't have a problem letting Dr. Bell know it is going to happen at his next meeting...what do you think?
LOL All the times I have been in the ED and I have never seen you. Sheesh! And it's not a I-didn't-recognize-you thing. I never had a Laura for a nurse. I swear I have lived there in the past 6 months. Told Dr. A. this is the sickest 6 months of my life but I would do it again in a heartbeat.

Hi Guys,
I could def. do this Monday. Even if we just met to organize a time, day, and location. There is a sg meeting at Lawrence and Memorial run by Ed. Altough a lot of people are Dr. Bell's patients, it is not affiliated with him. I believe it meets the third Wednesday of the month. However, I would still like to do something closer to home. I don't think we'd be stepping on any toes unless we had it on the same day of the month. I would be happy to call the Y-it's right off exit 66.
Let me know what you think,
Jen
P.S. I could meet any of those other two dates in addition but I'd prefer Monday (8/4).

Hi all- this is great- I am really excited to do this- We can start on Monday night 8/4, just to meet up and try to organize this further. I wouldnt want to interfere with another group and my intention would never be to step on any toes- I just would love to sit and talk with others who know what life is like post-surgery. And I gotta tell ya- the gas is killing me driving to Middletown (I drive to the hospital 3x a week- I am a nurse in the ER up at Middlesex), so to be able to do this a bit closer to home would be fantastic. I think I am the furthest out this way (Old saybrook) and I see a post from North Branford- Hammonasset is fine with me- or is there a duncin donuts or something in Clinton? Just somewhere in the middle of everyone. So, the time and date are set for the first get together (Monday Aug 4th, 6pm-ish till whenever) Now, where to do it?
I'm psyched!
You all dont mind that I am the only lap-bander in on this, do ya?

Hij Laura,
Cool! I am def. psyched to do this-especially closer to home. I should mention that I live in Old Lyme so I am even furthur out than you but just a bit. I'll meet anywhere you decide though. I know there's a coffee shop in downtown Madison but I'm not sure how late they're open. There is also a Starbucks there. Do you have to pay to get into Hammonassett? Anyway, let me know what you think.

Wow- sorry- I didn't know you were in Old Lyme- there is a duncin donuts next to cold stone creamery and (?) better bedding in clinton off of exit 63 (Clinton outlets). Maybe we could meet at the Duncin Donuts for coffee? The clinton library is right there too- anyone know how late they are open? These are also both right off the exit-easy off/easy back on!
